Recipe for Chicken Tikka

Preparation Time: 35-40 minutes

Serving: 3-4

Ingredients:

  1. Chicken (about 2 pounds – a small  pack of chicken)- boneless, skinless or chicken drumsticks ( see variation below)
  2. b. Yogurt – 2 big spoons
  3. c. Ginger garlic paste – 2 teaspoon
  4. d. Vegetable Oil – few drops
  5. e. Shan Chicken tikka BBQ mix – 1 whole packet if you want spicy
  6. f. Chat masala (MDH or any brand) – sprinkle

Jai Ho Checklist:

  1. a. Yogurt – check refrigerated section
  2. b. Ginger garlic paste – Check in aisle 4
  3. c. Shan Chicken Tikka BBQ Mix, Chat masala – check in aisle 2
  4. d. Vegetable Oil – Check in aisle 6

Method:

Cut the chicken into small bite sized pieces, wash them and keep them aside. Take about 2 big spoons of yogurt in a bowl, beat it well and add 2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste to it. Add the Shan masala (whole packet if you want spicy or little less than whole packet for medium spicy) to it and a few drops of oil and mix it well. Now add chicken to it and cover the chicken with marinade. Let it marinade for a few hours (if kept overnight, it really comes out good but a few hours will be fine too).

You can either put it on skewers or grill it or you can even broil it in the oven. Just put it in a pan or sheet and put it on broil and do the chicken till it gets done. You can see it changing color. Once it’s done, you can squeeze some lemon and chat masala on it. This dish can be served with coriander chutney.

Variation:

You can even add tomatoes, bell peppers and onions in the marinade and put it on skewers for added flavor.

You can make this with chicken legs/drumsticks and make tandoori chicken too
